After six fabulous years with us at Holmes Wood Matteo has decided to return home to Venice. He handed over his Head of the Table place to Eileen at the final lunch today. We are very sad but wish him and his family just the very best.

We have recently installed a new sign programme at Somerset House which includes information totems, what’s on boards, a new map and a full internal scheme. The design reflects the historic building and contemporary programmes of the venue and are flexible to meet the functional requirements of the space.

Botanic House became just the second new building in two decades to open its doors in Cambridge’s city centre. Lawyers Mills & Reeve moved in on the 18th of February and we designed the scheme for the reception lobby. Check them out at 00:09 in this video http://bcove.me/45ajxflj

We took a trip to the Natural History Museum, which was looking lovely in the snow this week!
The first phase of our wayfinding scheme for the refurbished Abercrombie and New Library and Teaching Building at Oxford Brookes University is being installed this week. We designed a bespoke product that draws reference from the new architecture and information graphics including a suite of bespoke pictograms. The pictograms bring character and personality to the signs and work alongside the University font Helvetica.

We have just finished installing the new sign scheme for Pembroke College in Oxford. The new Rokos Quad development, designed by Berman Guedes Stretton Architects, will provide students with a mixture of living, teaching, socialising and performing spaces.

The Holmes Wood elves did a fantastic job organising our Christmas party this year and even managed to keep it a secret despite weeks of pestering for clues. We had a great time in Vienna, enjoying the Vienna State Opera, the beautiful Christmas markets and of course an appropriate amount of mulled wine. Thanks Holmes Wood and Merry Christmas!
